Explore this homeA private, warm home in a quiet coastal setting on Averøy — built for couples, photographers, nature lovers and fishing enthusiasts. Large windows, natural materials, and total calm.
Northern Lights in winter. Endless daylight in summer. Raw Norwegian nature, year-round.
Follow the road in — over the bridges, across the island, out to the quiet edge of Ekkilsøy.
Eight bridges thread the skerries between Vevang and Kårvåg. Storseisundet is the one everyone knows — the curve that seems to launch you straight into the Norwegian Sea before setting you gently down on Averøy. Let the drive in slow you down. The journey is part of the stay.
Route 64 crosses Averøy between fishing harbours, boat sheds and sheep grazing the open heath. No queues, no hurry — twenty unhurried minutes of coastline with the sea never far from the windscreen.
Pause at Kvernes, where a medieval stave church still watches the fjord. Walk deep into the Bremsneshola cave, or look across the sound to Kristiansund, the old klippfisk town — and far out on the horizon, the abandoned island village of Grip.
A narrow bridge leaves the main road and lands on Ekkilsøy. At the end of it: a small holiday hamlet on its own stretch of shoreline — lawns down to the water, jetties and a sheltered marina, shared only with the handful of guests staying here.
In summer the sun barely sets — fish at midnight, coffee on the terrace at 3 a.m. In winter, storms roll in from the west, and on clear nights the aurora fills the sky above the jetty. Same address, two different worlds.
The waters off Averøy are serious fishing grounds — cod, saithe, haddock and the occasional halibut. Fish from the shore, or take a boat from the marina and head for the deeper banks. The quay is made for landing the day's catch.
Check-in from 15:00. The ocean does the rest.
Every home has its own view and its own character — terraces and balconies wrap the house, so the ocean is never more than a few steps away.

A whole house to yourselves — the full private-retreat experience on the Averøy coast.
Explore this homeThe house sits where the road meets the ocean. What you do next depends on the time of year — and how far you feel like wandering.

One of the world's most famous road trips starts minutes from your door. Drive it at sunrise, photograph it in a storm, or simply watch the traffic of waves instead of cars.

On clear winter nights, the sky above Averøy comes alive. Step onto the terrace, look up, and let the aurora do the rest — no tour bus required.

In summer, daylight simply never ends. Fish at midnight, hike at 2 a.m., or sit on the terrace and watch the sun graze the horizon without ever leaving it.

Hiking trails and snorkelling spots start in the neighbourhood, and the fishing grounds off Averøy are some of the richest on the Norwegian coast.
Winter storms, spring calm, endless summer light and golden autumn — the same view, never the same day. Bring a camera. Bring a dog. Pets stay free.

Idyllic views, exceptionally quiet and remote, yet had everything one could want for a holiday home to relax. One could spend hours just looking at the view and listening to the seabirds.
We love the location! It is practically on an island and right next to the ocean. The house is very clean, and the owner is very nice and detail-oriented.
