What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in at Atlantic Road Seaside Housing is from 15:00, and check-out is by 11:00. If you are arriving late after a long drive along the coast, let your host know in advance and arrival is arranged accordingly.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation is free up to 5 days before arrival. Cancel within 5 days of check-in and the booking is non-refundable. If you need to change your dates, contact your host directly — flexibility is offered wherever possible.

Are pets allowed?

Yes. Pets are welcome at Atlantic Road Seaside Housing and stay completely free of charge — no extra cleaning fee and no deposit. The terrace around the house and the coastal trails nearby make it an easy destination for travelling with a dog.

Is parking available?

Yes. Free private parking is available on site for all guests, including accessible (disabled) parking. No reservation is needed — you park directly at the house at Ekkilsøyveien 418.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property in all homes, at no extra cost.

Do the homes have their own kitchen and bathroom?

Yes. Every home has a private kitchen with fridge, microwave and dishwasher, a dining table and seating area with flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom with shower. You can cook the day's catch without sharing anything with other guests.

How many homes are there, and how many guests do they sleep?

There are five homes at Atlantic Road Seaside Housing, sleeping up to 8 guests:

Where is Atlantic Road Seaside Housing located?

The property is at Ekkilsøyveien 418, 6530 Averøy, Norway — on the island of Ekkilsøy on the Averøy coast, a short drive from the Atlantic Ocean Road (Atlanterhavsveien), one of Norway's most famous scenic routes.

Which airport is closest?

Kristiansund Airport, Kvernberget (KSU) is the closest airport, 21 km from the property. Molde Airport, Årø (MOL) is 74 km away. Both offer regular domestic connections, and the drive from Kristiansund takes you along the coast.

Are there restaurants nearby?

Yes. Sua Casa Restaurant and Kronborg Marina are both 11 km from the house, and Sky Bar in Kristiansund is 18 km away. Every home also has a fully equipped private kitchen if you prefer to cook.

Nature & seasons

Can I see the Northern Lights from the property?

Yes. On clear, dark winter nights the Northern Lights are visible directly from the property — the quiet coastal setting on Ekkilsøy has little light pollution. Step onto the terrace and look up; no tour is required. The aurora season on the Norwegian coast runs roughly from autumn to early spring.

What is summer like at Averøy?

In summer the coast gets endless daylight, with the sun barely leaving the sky. It is the season for driving the Atlantic Ocean Road in golden light, fishing late into the evening, and hiking the coastal trails that start near the house.

What activities are available nearby?

Hiking and snorkelling are available in the immediate area, and the waters off Averøy are known for excellent fishing. The Atlantic Ocean Road is a short drive away and is a destination in itself for road trips and photography, in every season and every kind of weather.

Is it a good place for photographers?

Yes. The property was made for photographers: sea, garden and mountain views from the homes, the Atlantic Ocean Road minutes away, Northern Lights in winter and endless daylight in summer. Storm weather on this coast is a subject of its own.

House rules

Are children welcome?

Yes, all children are welcome. A free cot (crib) is available on request. Extra beds are not available, so choose a home with enough sleeping capacity for your group.

Is smoking allowed?

No. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the homes.

Can we host a party or event?

No, parties and events are not permitted. Atlantic Road Seaside Housing is a quiet coastal retreat, and guests choose it for exactly that reason.

What languages does the host speak?

Your host, Karl Abel Sandvik Karlsen, speaks Norwegian, English, Danish, Swedish and German.
