9.9 hp outboard
Simple, steady and easy to handle. The right choice if you want to potter along the shoreline, drop a line close to land, or take the family out on a calm evening.
Four boats moored a short walk from your door — from a quiet 9.9 hp for the nearshore waters to the Kværnø boats built for a full day of fishing.
Rent by the day or by the week, directly from us. Fishing equipment is included if you want it — just ask when you book. Gasoline is not included in the price.

Simple, steady and easy to handle. The right choice if you want to potter along the shoreline, drop a line close to land, or take the family out on a calm evening.

75 hp outboard
A comfortable, capable boat for exploring further — around Ekkilsøy, under the Atlantic Ocean Road, or out to quiet coves you will have entirely to yourselves.

175 hp
Our recommendation for serious fishing. Built for these waters, with the power to reach the good grounds beyond the islands and get you home again comfortably.

500 hp
The largest and most powerful boat in the fleet. Range, speed and space for a full day at sea — the other choice we recommend for fishing trips further out.

Outboard
A solid open boat well suited to the waters around Ekkilsøy — comfortable for a day of cruising or a relaxed fishing trip close to shore.

No engine
Paddle the sheltered waters at your own pace. Perfect for exploring the coastline close to the house — no licence, no noise, just you and the sea.

No engine
Stand-up paddleboarding in the calm waters around Ekkilsøy. A fun way to explore the shoreline or simply enjoy the view from the water.
Rods and gear are included with any boat if you want them — just let us know when you book, and it will be ready at the jetty.
Fuel is not included in the rental price. You pay for what you use, so a quiet day near shore costs very little.
For fishing we recommend one of the Kværnø boats. If you only wish to fish close to land, the 9.9 hp boat does the job nicely.
Boating licence. For legal and insurance reasons: to drive a boat with more than 25 hp, you are required to either hold a valid boating licence or be born before 1 January 1980. This applies to the Hansvik 560 Sport and both Kværnø boats. The 9.9 hp boat can be driven without a licence.
Each boat in the fleet is built for a different water. Follow the route out from our jetty and you can see, in order, which one you actually need.
2 km out
The low skerries north of Ekkilsøya break the sea before it reaches you, so this stretch stays workable on days the open water is not. It is the 9.9 hp boat's home ground: slow, steady, and legal for anyone to drive.
5 km out
Open water now, with room to actually go somewhere — under the Atlantic Ocean Road, into a cove with nobody in it, or simply out and back before dinner. You want a boat with some length in it out here.
7.9 km out
The bottom drops away and the fishing starts in earnest — cod, saithe, haddock, and now and then a halibut. Take one of the Kværnø boats; they have the range and they get you home again comfortably.
Ask us before you cast off. We live here, and we usually know where they are biting.

Cod, coalfish, halibut — the waters around Averøy have fed this coast for a thousand years. Take a boat out in the morning and cook your own catch in your kitchen the same evening.
Ask us where the fish are biting. We live here — we usually know.
Send us a short message with which boat you'd like, your dates, and whether you want fishing equipment included. We reply quickly — in Norwegian, English, Danish, Swedish or German.
